Partnership Launches New Advertising Campaign
Washington, D.C. (November 17, 2015) – The Partnership for Open & Fair Skies launched a major advertising campaign, urging the Obama administration to enforce Open Skies agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Full page ads are running this week in the Washington Post, New York Times and Wall Street Journal and more will follow. Jill Zuckman, chief spokesperson for the Partnership for Open & Fair Skies, released the following statement:
“The American aviation industry is under siege due to billions of dollars in subsidies that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar are pumping into their state-owned airlines. These subsidies are propping up the unprofitable Gulf carriers; they are giving them a leg up; and they are threatening the livelihoods of 300,000 American aviation workers while undermining fair competition. It’s time for President Obama to get personally involved and enforce the Open Skies agreements.”
