Majority of House wants Gulf consultations
It’s snowing in the summer. Pigs are flying. The Cubs have won the World Series (I wish…).
All things you probably thought were going to happen before the House of Representatives agreed on something. But pick your jaw up off the ground because a bipartisan MAJORITY of the House just signed on to a letter urging the Obama Administration to open consultations with Qatar and the UAE.
Last week, Reps. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL), Robert Dold (R-IL), Steve Israel (D-NY), Tom Emmer (R- MN), Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Paul Cook (R-CA) and 256 other members came together because they see the Gulf carriers’ unfair business practices as a direct threat to American jobs.
I know we don’t need to tell you twice how important this issue is, but it means a lot when over half of the House has our back. Their message to the Obama Administration was clear: open consultations with Qatar and the UAE and save American jobs.
Their message to us was clear too: keep fighting because we’re here with you until we fix this thing.
Thanks for all you do,
Jill
